Terry Baldwin

Terry Baldwin facilitates meetings and provides various organizational development consulting services for Good Group Decisions clients. She brings extensive professional experience working with groups to create alignment, build consensus and develop a common vision.
Having achieved an MA in Applied Mathematics from UMO, Terry’s professional journey began in education. She taught mathematics at UMO and at a community college in California, with a specialization in students with learning disabilities.
Upon returning to Maine, she entered software development where she focused on requirements development and on project/team management. As a trained facilitator, Terry spent most of her time helping groups of diverse stakeholders arrive at consensus around their goals and clarity on action plans. Eventually Terry turned her focus to organizational leadership, studying Integral Leadership at Notre Dame’s executive management training program and providing leadership in different organizations, with teams whose specialties included: technology/project management, product development/marketing, and print production/creative design and facilities management. Throughout her career, Terry led her teams with a focus on building consensus-to-action and inter-team collaboration.
In 2009, Terry resigned her position as Chief Information Officer & VP of Enterprise Services at Diversified Business Communications in order to focus on applying her talents more broadly within the community at large. Her joy is supporting groups as they seek to gain insight, make decisions and move forward by connecting different, partial perspectives together to create a more complete picture.
At Good Group Decisions, Terry offers facilitation of strategic planning, annual meetings, organizational development and staffing, process development, technology, business, and environmental projects. She also offers training on related topics.
In addition to her work with Good Group Decisions, Terry maintains an independent business & technology consulting practice where she uses her strengths in system thinking, observation, analysis and facilitation to help small businesses and non profits optimize their operations by finding alignment of people, processes, systems and technology with a focus on understanding culture, organizational dynamics and the value of individual perspectives.
Terry lives in Brunswick with her husband where they enjoy camping, cross-country skiing, gardening and working around their "emptying nest”. Terry also enjoys travel, both within the US and abroad. Recent travels have taken her on a solo trip from the Upper Peninsula of Michigan to the Grand Tetons in Wyoming and abroad to Ghana, Africa, and Delhi, India.
